Pride WA and Living Proud have partnered to provide a range of access measures for people with disability throughout the month of November, as part of the Q&A project.

The access measures and links to relevant booking forms are listed below.

Pride Parade

Accessibility Concierge at the parade

When: from 6:30 – 10pm
Where: Lake Street between James Street and Roes Street
What: a group of volunteers will be there to help you in the following ways:

  • To meet you at the drop off point and direct you to the viewing areas
  • To provide information about the night and the features close by
  • To look after the different areas and help ensure safe and comfortable viewing

Viewing Platforms

Several areas have been set aside near the Northbridge Piazza for people with disability to attend the parade in comfort and safety. Bookings are essential, more info below.

Wheelchair Viewing Platform

What: an area for people who use wheelchairs (and two guests) to be close to the parade with a clear view. Bookings are essential Click here to Book your spot. An additional support is welcome with a companion card.

When: from 6:30 – 10pm
Where: Facing James Street, Close to the intersection with Lake Street.

Auslan Viewing Platform

When: from 7:30 – 10pm
Where: Next to the main stage. Book here to reserve a spot close to the interpreters

Audio Description Viewing Platform

When: from 7:30 – 10pm
Where: James Street opposite the main stage. Book here to reserve a spot close to the AD desk

Quiet space at the parade

When: from 6pm-10pm

Where: on Lake Street between Roe and James Streets. Next door to the Accessibility concierge

Russel Square Parade After Party

Auslan

When: from 10pm – 12am
Where: on the main stage at Russel Square

Described Tour After the Parade

What: a tactile, described tour of the stationary floats parked either side of Russel Square
When: from 10pm on
Where: Tour will begin from the Audio described viewing area and terminate at Russel Square

PRIDE PIAZZA OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY

Auslan

When: 4 November, 6.30pm – 9.30pm

Where: on the stage at Northbridge Piazza, corner of Lake and James Streets, Northbridge

Fairday

The Fairday site map is below.

The list of activities on the main stage at Fairday will be available on the day from our Accessibility Concierge stall or the Pride WA website.

Accessibility Concierge

What: additional parking bays designated for people with ACROD passes are available.

Where: enter on William Street close to Lincoln Street. See the site map below and there will be signage.

When: bays will be attended from 9:30am until 6pm

Viewing Area

What: a space in front of the stage which has been reserved for people with disability  

Where: on the left hand corner of the stage, next to the AD desk on the Map

ACROD Parking

What: a space in front of the stage which has been reserved for people with disability  

Where: on the left hand corner of the stage, next to the AD desk on the Map  

When: from 10am-6pm  

Quiet Space

What: a relaxed and private space to get away from crowds. Run by DADAA. 

Where: behind the main stage next to the concierge tent  

When: 10am-6pm  

Audio Described Tour

What: a guided tour of the stalls for people who are blind or have low vision.  

When: starts at 12pm finishes at 2pm

Audio Described Stage

What: the dog show at the main stage will be described live for people who are blind or have low vision  

When: once the tour of the stalls is completed at 2pm
